The most important result of our project was that we were able to work together and help other living creatures, despite any setbacks we may have faced. With our help, mason bees now have a safe and reliable home in Putnam County. They will be able to give back to the community by pollinating the community garden better than ever before. The money that was donated to the Honeybee Conservancy will be put toward protecting the future of other bees that we were not able to help directly.
This project has positively impacted our own characters as well. The feelings of gratitude for having the opportunity to make a difference and pride for executing it to the best of our abilities are some we will not soon forget. Help Me, Honey! taught us both valuable lessons about responsibility and giving back to the world around us. It has also taught us the consequences of human interference on nature. A significant reason why the bees are in trouble in the first place is because of humans with the use of pesticides and poor beekeeping. This project has made us much more aware of how humans are hurting the environment and gave us a sense of responsibility to take better care of the environment. We have undoubtedly gained a deeper appreciation for bees and we will be able to apply our newfound knowledge and life skills to future endeavors.
